ABOUT KAC

Kirkland Arts Center is a vibrant non-profit visual arts center, offering small, community-focused art classes to people of all ages, backgrounds, and skills. The art center’s gallery exhibits curated work from established and emerging local artists and hosts popular events, such as its annual Holiday Arts Market. The arts center is a hub and convenor for community and arts in the heart of downtown Kirkland.

Visual Arts School
With a community focus, the arts center offers classes in ceramics, printmaking, painting, drawing, fiber arts, and more for all levels of experience. Students receive hands-on teaching and mentorship unparalleled in larger settings. Quarterly class catalogs are online.

Gallery
The art gallery exhibits established and emerging artists, and partners with community organizations to establish exhibitions and programming. The gallery features 15 exhibitions and events per year in a variety of media on diverse subjects.

Peter Kirk Building
The Kirkland Arts Center stewards the Peter Kirk Building. Built in 1892,it is the oldest commercial building in east King County and is representative of Victorian architecture. In 1962, the Creative Arts League purchased the Peter Kirk Building. For more than 60 years, the arts center has owned and maintained this historic structure and transformed it into a gathering space for creativity and community.
